The new DVD film lending library was created by the Educational Committee who with the AS Foundation’s assistance applied for two grants through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic in 2020 and 2021. The generous grant allowed the ASO Education Committee to purchase Czech DVD’s and offered reimbursement to units for projectors and screens. A loan process was set- up through execution of an American Sokol Organization Standard Operating Procedure in which a copyright lawyer was contacted.Any member, unit or district can borrow the DVD filling out the application below after selecting one of the films on the listing. Some donated DVD’s only have Czech language subtitles, but this isindicated in the listing. Have a fun time showing these films as part of a meeting, special event, or monthly as some Sokol units already have done. Review the local library system or if near a college campus, see if there are titles available there or perhaps through the local consulate! The office manager will be responsible for the mailing out of the DVD with summary/question sheet for talking points and listing of those in attendance for insurance reasons. Postage required to return the DVD is the loaner’s responsibility.
